I am restoring my first JD-40 and have a question about the red light in the rear work light. The wiring is all cut off so I can't determine where it went. Is the red bulb supposed to be a brake light or does it signify something else? I haven't gotten a manual on it yet and I wanted to start rewiring it this weekend. Thanks.

Most all of the older tractors had this type of rear work light. The red is a rear tail light for driving at dark, there should be a switch on the rear work light that would allow switching from the rear work light to the red tail light. Unlike the lights now on newer tractors for rear warning at dark with all the flashers and red and Amber lights.
