Every once in a while, I go through the build your own section on
the JD site. I noticed the 48" rotary rake jumped 3000$CDN in one
year, From 8000$, to 11,000$. That is nuts!

I realize my failed Government let our dollar sink, but WOW!:banghead:

I was looking to get the Finishing Mower with mulching option, maybe
even a box scraper. Has anyone else notice price changes?

When possible I purchase from a USA source other than New York State to avoid paying taxes twice. and have it shipped to Northern New York. Even with the difference in the dollar it's still worth it.
plus 13% tax at the border of course.

Does that 13% include the new rape tax(Carbon Tax)?
Last I checked, our Canadian paso was .65$ to the US$.:banghead:

I agree also, I was just wondering that was the reason partially for the insane jump in price.:bigthumb:

I was looking at the TSC 60" unit, but it was mentioned it didn't
except a mulching option I want.

Used would be okay I guess, as I am easing into my retirement
hobby, I was looking for new equipment if you know what I mean.

budman, side-question: are you a fan of AvE? If you do not know what I'm referring to, I will follow up outside of this thread.

I am waiting to see what Deere does if the President puts a 20% tax on items from Mexico. Most JD loaders and backhoe attachments come from Mexico. QA is horrible. Packaging is bad. Time and weather delays suck. Lets get the mfg back in the US.

It stands to reason if made in USA without china parts the product would be free of defects and better quality. For the price of JD equipment it should be made in USA. Just the china ball bearing issues alone is a good reason.

I know what you mean, China items are low quality and hit and miss reliable.
Mexico about the same, but better than china.

I don't know what to think come the summer. I am guessing that the used
market is going to be well used for the next little while, until things stabilize. :unknown:

If one does the math the 37% between the Canadian dollar and the USA dollar, the math proves out.
Bad deal for out Canadian friends. Dollar exchange is economy based. Not the fault of JD this time.
I agree failed government is costing you..............

The worst part is.. We can't refuse a shipment. We note damages and file with the last carrier. More than likely a LTL carrier. They pay the damage bill. Most 5series loader frames now a days are a hit and miss. We have a pile of frames that wont even close bolt up. All Mexico welded. Aint sayin.. Just sayin

I am very happy with my tractor, if I can, I would just rather put JD equipment on her
then "bargain" brands stuff.:bigthumb::greentractorride:
