What's it going on? Next time in the scrap pile I'll take a look.
Working on the 312 project and an extra oil pan will make the putting the Kirk KillerKohler in the machine much easier. Need to adapt the "ear" motor mounts to work with the pan in the picture. It will make the project easier from the fab side of things.

There are several versions of that oil pan,, and,,
it was made out of aluminum and cast iron.
The iron one is the one to have,,, but, they are rare as hens teeth.

The GT pullers scrounge up EVERY iron one.

The aluminum ones will pull the mounting threads easily,,,

IIRC, the one in the pic looks like the Cub Cadet version.

I'll look too. I know Josh had bought several looking for the exact one he wanted for his 2nd K321 build. There in a box, I think in the attic in the shop.

This one is the pan that came on my '77 312 and the pan on the '78 312 I parted is the same.

Great info to know on this. I did not realize there were aluminum and cast iron versions. My 120 has the same pan but with this info would guess it is probably the cast iron version. The one piece in the pic is definitely aluminum.

Watching a cast iron piece on eBay for $45. Think I will pull the trigger in the morning.
