X300 Stalls after ~20 mins of mowing but stabilizes when blades (PTO) is disengaged

A very common issue on the older X300s was ignition coil failure when hot. It sounds like a coil going bad. One cylinder is not firing and with the pto engaged the other cylinder can't handle the load. After the coil cools off it returns to working.
When it starts to mess up, unplug a plug wire and see what it does. If there is no change. Then that is your dead cylinder. If it stalls, that was the good cylinder and your bad one is on the opposite side.
