Hello all.
My brother has a 2006 x495 diesel. A few years ago he had a crank, no start condition so it went to the dealer. When he got it back, the dealer had wired a momentary push button switch that applies 12v to the fuel pump relay to get to latch on, then it starts and runs as it should. When asked why they jury rigged a rinky dink switch into the system, the reply was "Too much of a pain in the butt to do it right and you wouldn't like the cost"

Recently the fuel gauge, hour meter, and temp gauge all have been reading incorrectly.

I am sure others may have had this problem too, and looking for a place to start troubleshooting, and repair the fuel circuit the right way. Is there a module or relay for this fuel circuit?

Thanks in advance!

I would have never accepted such a "repair" from a dealer. Some low-budget fix-it outfit located in a crummy area of town, yeah, but only because that's what I'd expect from such a place.

But it is what it is so now a good first step would be to find what circuits they hacked into when they installed the button and check for corrosion and other damage to the wiring.

Of course the problems you're having could be entirely unrelated but it sure sounds like an electrical problem to me.
