I'm ready to make my frist Deere purchase, i'm set on the x540. After reading many reviews I'm concerned about one issues that seems to have come up often and thats the clutch. does anybody have some insight on this problems or any others that i should be aware of?

What clutch problem are you referring to?

I'm assuming you're talking about the electric pto clutch and I'm not aware of any problems with them on this model. There are only a couple of manufacturers of the electric pto clutches and they're usually reliable and bullet proof.
