I just changed the transmission fluid and filter on my x580. I torqued the drain plugs to 10 ft/lb. But how tight
do you make the cap for the filter ? 10 ft/lb seemed too much and even 5 ft/lb seems too much. Do you tighten
it until it makes contact and then tighten a little more ? I don't want to strip the plastic cover.

According to the technical manual there isn't a torque spec for the filter cap. Just snug it up and give it half a grunt.
