X590 light bulb swap (LED)

1760 Views 11 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Nate X590
Like a kid on Christmas here. Just brought home a new x590. I had already bought LED lightbulbs prior to receiving the tractor…just cause…probably caused by too much online researching of upgrades.
Here are a few pictures showing the difference.

Looks like the order of the pictures won’t be as intended, so it’ll likely be: 1) lighting of originals; 2) front view of original vs LED; 3) lighting LED; 4) front view with LEDs; 5) easy twist and swap of light bulbs.

Any recommendations on any other upgrades?

I’m waiting on a Johnny bucket jr….Hoping to mow the lawn tomorrow but they are calling for rain early on.

Congrats on the new X590! I did the exact same LED mod when i got mine delivered earlier this year. Added front brush guard and arm rests. I also got Johnny Bucket and definitely impressed with that. I did install an on-board trickle charger with plug in adapter so i can simply plug it in after a lot of hours using Johnny Bucket. Only other mods is the addition of a 2”’receiver hitch and cyclone hitch plate. I have 47” snowblower arriving next. Good luck with your mods.

Beauty! And the nice HDAP tires! I’ll assume you have the 54’ deck. I hate that the 48´ doesn’t get them!

Have you mowed with the Johnny bucket on or do you remove it for mowing?

Trickle charger just in case or have you noticed it as being necessary?
Yes I have the 54” deck. Didn’t realize HDAP didn’t come with 48”. I have never mowed with the bucket on as it is rather simple to take off and on. The trickle charger was mostly for convenience than anything, I can’t say I have had a need to use it much. This winter in between using it for driveway duty I’ll keep it plugged in. I also forgot to mention I have the mulch on demand and that is nice not having grass go everywhere.

Below is where I placed the bucket switches.

Very clean placement. Mine will likely go where the mulch on demande switch would.
What is the LED bulb number and where did you buy them?

My X590 has 48" deck and prefer the turf tires. I use it only for mowing. I have a new X590 ordered with arm rests, grille guard, 48" deck, power flow, and 2 bag hopper. Trading in my current X590.
Here is the amazon link.

why are you trading in the old x590? How old is it?

2018. I trade every three (3) years. Keeps the machine in warranty and dealer gives me a reasonable trade price. New one ordered in May and just now at the dealer ready for pickup.

very nice looking set-up you got there! my biggest regret when i got my X590 a couple years ago was not researching the JBJr a little more. i ended up getting a 48" blade for mine, not a lick of snow since.

That is typically what happens. Buy equipment and never get to use it. Had a few 8”-12” snow events this past year (perhaps unusual) that made my decision to get a bigger blower. I have a small 22” 2 stage walk behind (from my previous smaller house) and although it can do the job at my new house I end up going through an entire tank of gas and have to refill to finish. Figured with the X590 I can double the clearing width and have more fun! I have thought about a blade but was concerned on these larger snow events I may run out of places to push snow. Best would be to have both! Just wish I didn’t have to remove the JBJR bracket when changing back and forth between blower and bucket. Presume I will get proficient at that with time.

I am guessing the engine is EFI? no choke slider with the throttle control...

Correct, X590 has EFI
