I have a JD Z445 w/54HC deck, bought new in 2010, and the stock seat is wearing and rusting out along with stress cracks from my 250lb weight. I already had to install a reinforcing flat plate across the back end area where the seat rest upon as some small cracks were appearing in the formed sheet metal.
I want to upgrade the base of the seat to accept a suspension seat but can't seem to find any that will fit the JD series 400 ZTR's. I have a replacement seat on order that is a replica of the original JD OEM seat but it is on back order just like everything else in this world.
Anybody done a seat or suspension seat upgrade on the 400 series ZTR's?
I figure 12 years of dependable service of the original seat justifies getting new one.
