Any recent input on this mower overall? I've seen generally positive reviews but cant find anything very recent. Thanks!

Well never mind....looking at it next to a commercial unit, I'm going with a z920m that they offered me a decent discount on. Seems super beefy

There's a lot of difference between the two...Z540r and the Z920m mowers. The horse power may be the same, but, there is also a big difference between the engines. Everything is bigger, bolder, and made for heavy and longer mowing years. Tat also goes for the price.

You will forget about the Z540r very quickly when you get on the seat and start mowing. There's a big difference.

Definitely looks to be worth the price difference. Ready for spring!

Mowed with the 920m yesterday. Cut more than 1/3 off my mowing time. Side-hilling is less puckering than on the 1025r. Very impressed with the engine. Less HP than the old rider but pulls the hills easily. Doesn't seem to ride any rougher either. Still getting a feel for it, as we haven't had a zero turn before, but I think it was a good buy. Probably overkill for our yard, but hey.

Have to start getting the items together for the 8 hour service. Haven't had any luck finding a maintenance pack like they sell for the 1025r though.

I've had my Z920M for over 3 years. It has 140 hours on it. Two issues, PTO/ mower switch burned out at 3 years, Bought switch at dealer, and changed switch inside the control panel. Easy. A custom one piece nut/ bushing on the aft end of the mower deck height linkage fell off. I would take each off and put some loctite on the threads to save the $24 cost of each.
My mower starts fast, runs all day, and is easy on fuel. In wet grass the tires spin east and if you turn by reversing the inside tire, it will damage the turf. Changing oil is pretty easy too. Th Kawasaki motor is smooth, i use AMSOIL in it because it is a expensive machine.:thumbup1gif:
