I thought I would bring this up here before I start getting into things mechanically.
I bought a new to me 920M this past spring and have used it to mow my lawn all this season. The cut I would say has never been as nice as I thought it would be, but its definitely getting worse. It seems like it doesn't lift and cut as well as the 1025R did. I will mow a strip and spin around and go down the next swath and realize that there are pieces that don't get cut. Its not large sections, but rather small small areas or singular pieces. My lawn isn't a golf course and far from it but I have found that at times, I have to mow an area twice to get it to cut everything.
I popped the blades off a month or so ago and sharpened them. one of the covers for the spindles on the underside of the deck came off when I pulled the blade off. (took the blades off one at a time, sharpened them, put it back on and moved to the next one). I thought it was odd that that cover came off and it makes me believe that the spindles may need replaced.
Also after sharpening i went thru and greased all the spindles.
The blades weren't in great shape but also not terrible. I am wondering if Its a combination of a stretched or worn belt, and some spindles that need to be replaced, and maybe just new blades? I hate to throw a couple hundred dollars at parts to try and fix the cut.
I will reach down and push the throttle occasionally as well thinking that I am lacking power. There is a huge difference between this and the 1025R and that is shocking that the 1025R has a better cut.
any ideas?
