Would anyone know what would be a ballpark estimate for the dealer to add a backhoe to my 1025r?

There was a thread recently where a GTT'er bought a new left over backhoe unit and then did a thread about installing it on his tractor. In the end, he said it was about $1,800 to $2,000 less than the price he was quoted. I can't recall the GTT members name, but he did a really nice and detailed step by step of the process to add to his tractor.........He said the install was pretty straight forward and nothing really unexpected happened.

I know there are a few other GTT'ers who have bought these same back hoes from the guy In Iowa and had the backhoes shipped to their local dealers. I know another member who bought one of these backhoes was GTT member USAFRet. You may want to send him a "conversation" and ask about the costs as he looked into having his dealer install one for him.

Good luck and make sure to report back.......

I would have to re read the thread, to be honest. I wasn't interested enough as I have no plans to add one so I wasn't looking at it as if I was going to travel that same road. I was following primarily because I had run across the ad and posted it for others to see and was making sure those who did contact the seller were treated right and it wasn't a sham. It seems everyone who bought one was very happy thus far and surprised themselves at the seller and how the deal worked out.

If I got the dates near accurate, in or around July of 2017, Deere stopped using the 260 for production and started using the 260B. The 260B is not only an updated version, but also requires a different sub-frame mounted to the tractor. When member USAFRet was looking into getting a 260 from the gentleman in Iowa that Sulley mentioned, the search for a sub-frame kit began for him. IIRC, Deere no longer had any but he came across another member here that was selling one. I believe he got lucky and probably found one of the last ones available in the country.

There also was another thread recently where the asking member has a newer 1025 (MY 2018 I believe) , and was curious if anyone knew if the sub-frame for the 260 would actually fit. He was looking at getting the 260 and sub-frame in exchange for labor. IIRC, he mentioned his dealer would swap the sub-frame from the older tractor to his for $500. I don't know if he went through with the deal or the actual outcome.

My point is, if you're looking at one of those 260s from Iowa, if any are still available, you'll need the sub-frame for the older 1025s, and you'll have to verify it will work on a 2019 1025. I think it will, but no guarantee, as I haven't yet heard anything definite. Finding the sub-frame for the 260 is going to be the real challenge in the first place. You may end up with no other choice but to go with the 260B and its sub-frame.

You'll also need the power beyond kit if your tractor doesn't already have it.

If you're handy and mechanically inclined, consider installing it yourself. From what I understand, installing the sub-frame is pretty easy.

From what I understand, no. Just takes time, as a lot of plastic has to come off around the seat. Not sure if the right fender comes off. The dealer can print you off the instructions.

Think I’m going to call dealer on Monday and get some ballpark pricing on this for my 2019 1025r. Should have bit the bullet when I bought the tractor. Have a good need for one now.

From what I read, main things to install at the PB kit and the new subframe. Am I missing anything else?

Nothing I can think of....

While you're speaking with the dealer, you may want to discuss trading-in your 1025R for a 1025FTLB. I know when I purchased mine, I was having difficulty cost justifying the backhoe. I looked inot the cost of adding it myself later. I have all the tools and skills to do so, without question. So even just parts alone and no labor expense, it was far more cost effective to purchase the backhoe factory installed. So I reasoned myself into changing the order to TLB.

Ive read all the points on this In the similar posts. Would assume there would be way more money lost in this deal as my machine was purchased last fall and only has 50 hrs. Main reason I’ve gathered for most to do it this way is to be able to finance it. Real benefit to this approach for me personally would be to wait for 2020 so I can get load n go for the 54d. Certainly not trading my tractor for that however.
I saw the videos on installing the PB. Not terrifying. Still haven’t tracked down actual threads or videos on the BH sub frame. Lot of post but most just reference another post.

I added a 260 BH to my MidYear2014 when it was 4 years old and it was $6780 out the door. I found that the Deere MSRP prices are not a good indicator because my dealer is always less than the Deere price. I hope this helps.
