I'm not sure what you "normally" have mounted on your tractor, but the 260B will give you MUCH more versatility... lift, lower, left, right, towards/away from tractor. Another thought would be a set of KennyD's hooks...search "boltonhooks" as I can't get a link to work!... , on your bucket and a couple of chains.

I see no problems with a boom pole, but you already have most of what you need! Bob

 

When I had an 8 N without FEL I used my boom pole a lot. Once I got a FEL I have not used it. I always thought it would be good for skidding logs, just to get one end up above the ground and pull them. But I did it with my quick hitch and a small chain which was probably safer. I would say buy and try. I still have mine and would not get rid of it even though I have not used it for probably 15 years, but you never know.

 

I made this one for my 1023e and it does a great job moving just about anything I hook up to it. Plus adding the winch makes things so much better not having to put much strain on the 3 point hitch lifting the load

 

Several times where circumstances made this the best tool to use...... I have used the yoke and arm from a post hole digger to lift things where other options were not as good.. This worked well..

Lots of folks have one and don't remember......Usually 1 bolt removes gearbox from Post hole digger arm.......instant boom pole.

 

I bought a factory pole back in my 1958-520 days, later cut it apart & made a 5' boom for my loader:

 

Mine gets lots of use on the loader, have never needed it on the 3pt but its nice to have it available if I do.
