As Wisconsin Cowman advises........... if you want to go with steel, save your dollars and take a pass on the overly priced John Deere impeller and order the one from Agri Metal. I replaced my poly impeller with the Agri Metal one as well.
One thing to note, if you go that route , is to add a grease zerk to the impeller shaft. Easy to do. Drill the correct size hole and tap for correct threads and add the zerk. This prevents the impeller from seizing on the steel shaft over time.

This is my 54” with the upgrades, enclosed chain/sprocket case, Changed to metal impeller, Added zerks to metal impeller. Bailer belt flaps on each blade, This was the first time I used it. A big big difference from plastic impeller.
