GT235 Garden Tractor no power

I recently bought this tractor and previous owner claimed battery was shot. I put a brand new battery on it and it wanted to start for a second then went completely dead. I charged the battery for a couple of hours to make sure that wasn't the issue. Now when I hook up the battery I get nothing. No lights on the dashboard and obviously, no cranking either. I'm pretty handy with cars but don't know much about these mowers.

Can someone point me in the direction of a fuse or something that's responsible for power/cutting power after the batter?

Thanks!

I would check the condition of the cables for a bad connection first. Since you said no lights or anything now that tells me maybe the Ground Cable is messed up where it bolts to the frame. Follow the big positive cable around and look for heated or corroded connections. Maybe a fuse where the smaller wires hook to it for power behind the dash that work the solenoid to spin the starter with when you turn the key?

I picked up a 325 this fall that had similar indications. Found a blown 10 Amp fuse in the block under the hood.
