Just browsing the online salvage auctions. Brand new 3025e. 11 hrs on the meter

What could a person do to cause this??

https://www.copart.com/lot/51469657

Seems like it split in half at the transmission casting?
Anyone seen a CUT split like this before?
Mystery to me.
Long time viewer of forum first post. Excellent knowledge here thanks for educating me..

Hiya,

I'm thinking it fell off or into something or there was a casting flaw that made it through QA. Some of the older tractors that bolted the loader masts to the driveline would snap in half if the owners juiced the loader too much. I remember maybe about 10-12 years ago a few people on the tractor boards with MF's has some split tractors until MF put a subframe on the bigger ones.

Bucket is all bent up, I'd say it fell off a truck or trailer.

Wow, it must have taken quite a hit. That appears to be rusted cast iron at the break. It had to have fallen off a truck.

I have to agree with Ken. This tractor took a hard shock that fractured the casting causing it to break in half.

I've seen at least 3 Ag tractors split in half while being hit from behind by a vehicle on the highway(a 4010, a 4020 and a IH 1086). All had brok between the clutch housing and trans case.

Well there still a lot of useable parts. If you are brave and handy with a wrench I guess you could replace all the broken parts and maybe have a working tractor. Even with doing the labor yourself you might not be that much ahead but at least there isn't a lot of rust and grime to work through like an old project tractor would have! I thought I was a little hard on my tractor!

I am going to have to agree with the others that it must have fallen off of something. What a shame though, waste of a perfectly good tractor. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Welcome from Preston County, West Virginia

I agree it fell off something, I had a small ford 1510 to get under buildings and it had a woods 8 foot backhoe on the back and I broke the thing in half right at the bellhousing using the hoe.. The small tractor was junk, no frame to speak of just the engine back to the tranny and rear end holding the darn thing in one piece. Split it in half at the shop after we got it on the trailer with an excavator and for the money it would have cost to rebuild the transmission and tranny case, new bellhouse and clutch we scrapped it. The next year ford went to New Holland,, crap I say.
This tractor must have taken quite a shock to break like that....

Thanks for the warm welcome....
Speaking of warm. Anyone interested in a 3038E that got a little hot. Tires at 0%
I don't know why I keep thinking these salvage auctions will have anything worth while. Needle in a haystack maybe.

The bucket might be worth $50. You'd have to repaint it, of course.

TEXAS Flood Tractors

After reading about how a small amount of water in a gentleman's 3520 hydro is causing unending problems. Imagine how the purchaser and future purchasers of this 3038E will be. While it looks pretty on the outside imagine what problems and future problems will be ahead for this tractor.
Even if it is parted out. People will be getting some very suspect hydraulic, engine and electronic components. BUYER BEWARE...

Keep an eye out for this serial # on the resale market.
And thanks to all for the welcome..

Well that sold for over $5k.... I have a feeling the used tractor market in Texas has a few waterlogged tractors being passed around.

Exterior frame

In a lot of ways, I like an exterior frame on a tractor. It adds weight but so what? Unfortunately, it also adds cost and that's not good but a frame makes bolt on things like FEL mounts, saddle spray tanks etc. pretty easy.

One of my favorite tractors was this from long ago: https://www.google.com/search?q=Oli...ahUKEwiQ7rqWlqbZAhVqdt8KHZOJDdYQ9QEINjAG&biw=1366&bih=637#imgrc=iVyBMuQNMvXflM:

A beefy frame with attachment points cast into them plus IMHO it just looked good like a tractor should.

It's also green but maybe a different shade. . .
