Rule of thumb is the weight of the loaded trailer should be less than the tow vehicle plus operator or any weight on the tow vehicle. That being said, the X320 has the K58 transmission and I think it should handle 200 lb load. But, it's also a lawn tractor and if you pull that trailer a lot, you might want a garden tractor which has a stronger transmission.

 

200 Gallons [US] = 1,669.052 Pounds

That is water only, not the tank and trailer. Seems like you might have a tail wagging the dog situation.

I am sure it will pull it around slow, but if you plan on doing it ofter, I would look to upgrade like T-Mo said.

I would say no.

That particular transmission is designed for mowing on flat ground and pulling light loads on flat ground. There are a lot of failures with that unit when guys start to even mow in hilly environments. That is why you see guys retrofitting K66 transmissions into them.

The next problem as Brian said "tail wagging the dog" is that much weight is going to push the tractor around. So if you need to stop in a hurry your tractor is going to stop when the tank of water wants too. Its no fun being pushed by what you are pulling. I have a 1000 pound roller that I used to pull with my last garden tractor that had wheel weights on back and 200#suitcasecase weights on front. I quickly learned don'tdont want that thing pushing you going down a hill.

 

I remember years back I had a #112 JD tractor and use to pull my 17' boat out of the garage on a sloped blacktop driveway.
It worked fine, groan some when backing it back in the garage, but never gave it a thought about the transmission
or thinking for one minute rather it was good for the tractor or not.
Never had trouble with the transmission

 

Just finished doing some yard work and had to move our boat so i hooked her up with the x320 and she pulled it like it wasnt even there. Its a 19' crestliner walleye boat with 150 optimax about 3500+ lbs on a tandem axle trailer.

 

Great...... now come over to my house and try BACKING 3500 lbs up a 20 degree slope.

I'm not saying it wouldn't do it, but you might have a hard time keeping the rear rubber on the blacktop
backing up hill.

Come on men, invest in a #700 series tractor and move the world with ease........:lol:
