1. How to position the new OEM rings on the piston? The top two rings - one has silvery edge and the other is colored all black. Both rings have a N stamped on the side of the ring. Which is the top compression ring and which is the second ring? Also which direction should the N be place when placing them in the piston ring grooves in relationship to the top of the piston? Thanks.
2. Oil pump pressure release system - There is about a 1/16 gap between the top of the spring and the cover plate. This occurs with the pressure release ball resting on the bottom of the hole with the pressure spring sitting on top of the ball. The pressure release system does not have a hardened seat for the ball bearing to rest on. With this present configeration, the ball will be pushed off the bottom allowing some oil to bypass around it. Is this the way the system was designed or am I missing something. Thanks.
