I saw Otis came out with a Hydraulic Filter Guard for the 1025r, so of course I felt like I needed to nab one.

Initially I got bummed because it says 2014-2022. I have a 2023. The frame holes changed ever so slightly on the 2023's, but they were in the correct orientation so I decided to go for it.

The carriage bolt was swapped out for a Flange bolt and it works great. Mount the nut on the inside and thread the bolt from the outside since it is a little tight getting your hands in there.

All in all a great simple mod. Little tight getting the second bolt/nut but I used my open end wrench with a little tape to hold the nut and bring the bolt in from the outside makes it pretty simple. Now I know what to do and it's off in 5 minutes and back on in the same.

Good job Otis for coming up with this.

I too ditched the included carriage bolt for the frame connection. I used a SS 3/8x1" button head screw and shoulder bolt. A box wrench holds the nut and a hex key makes easy work of starting the threads.

Its a really nice piece and I feel better about the upcoming snow blowing season. :)

Yes. A few small hardware tweaks and good to go!

@JakeT can you tell me what size the flange bolt is so I can find one to replace my carriage bolt?
