Outstanding! Glad it worked out! Hopefully they will get it back to you in a reasonable amount of time.

Already fixed- just need to find the slot in their driver schedule to get it back to me. Probably after Christmas is most likely.

Update / after receiving the repaired gator back, I noticed a pronounced chatter/stutter in the steering wheel. Back to the dealer she went and after more testing they determined that the replacement EPAS was bad! A new one was ordered up and now its good to go

What are the odds of that!

Dang, this certainly sounds like Deere has some serious issues with their vendor for the EPS?

The EPAS module replacement is being covered under a "fix as fail" Product Improvement Program (PIP). A matrix was developed for reimbe
ursement. It uses age of unit vs hours on unit to determine customer cost if any. <5 yrs old and under 300hrs would be paid at 100% by Deere.
If you post your age of unit and hours I can look and see what your cost should be if any. Labor time to replace the EPAS under the PIP is 1.75hrs. There may be some time added for diag but not more than an hour I would say.
Older units will also have a new wring harness installed so the new style EPAS will plug into existing vehicle harness.
long shot here with the thread being old, but we are also having this issue with our 2014? I think 2014, 825i. 400 hours on it. When I searched the pips with our serial number I did not find this.

So my 825i S4 had been having the steering idiot light come on frequently, resulting in no power steering.

I finally had enough down time with winter upon us to send it off to the JD dealer to figure out the problem.

Turns out the EPAS is bad and also the wiring harness. I’m out of warranty of course and the parts alone are $1500

Apparently there is a JD technical bulletin on this issue and they replace it if they catch it while under warranty. Kind of a don’t ask don’t tell recall

Anyway due to my low hours, my dealer got JD to cover the parts and i just have to eat the labor - probably around $500 (5 hour job)

Anyone else experience this issue out of warranty and have a JD cover the whole nut?

Good morning. I’m having issues with the power steering on my 825i. I’ve called local dealers to inquire about the “fix as fail product improvement program”, yet no one seems to know about it although they admit this is a known issue. I’ve had one quote for $3,200 and one for $2,000. I believe my machine is either a 2015 or 2016. 530 hours. The rep specifically stated she looked up fix as fails for my serial number to no avail. Any idea how to get JD to cover any portion of this known issue? And would mine be one that is effected? Thanks in advance.

Hi, this is after the fact but I wanted to share with you, my 2016 825i xuv (210 hrs) is in the shop, the EPAS failed, there is major issue with clutch and drive belt and the fuel pump is busted. These things happen, right?

Well seeing as gator is now 8 years old, the original fuel pump is no longer available so I need newer part along with multiple additional parts - $900
The clutch and belt seem will be approx $1160
And the original epas module has been replaced the new parts (along with modifications to the dash) - $3600.

Not quite sure what I am going to do at this time, its a rolling death trap in its current state but paying approx $5800 to fix it is a hard pill to swallow.

I replaced the fuel pump for a friend. I found the old P/N on eBay. I think JD sold off all its old inventory when they changed the P/N for the fuel pump. You are correct, new P/N pump requires many other parts.
