I was wondering about that because the videos I watched of it being used it left lines in the stone drives.
The lines go away as vehicles drive on the gravel. Or just use less rake pressure. The rake is wider than the other parts of the implement. The rake "erases" the wheel tracks as the rake spreads gravel evenly across the path you just drove with the tractor. The implement wheels can be adjusted up, down and individually with a simple pull of a pin to allow the implement to be higher on one side for crowning a road.

Drive over the lines with your vehicles and the lines disappear. The lines are more prominent where you have deep gravel. I used the levelling blade and rake to more evenly distribute the gravel where it was deep. This was easier and faster than with the 5' land plane I used before getting the TR3e, and the final result was superior.

I received my 7.5' TR-3 Rake about a month ago. I did a quick setup onto our JD 4066R tractor. Weather and other priorities have limited my use to about 2 hours total. I haven't even tried the scarifers or profile blades yet!

That said, I'm impressed! Simply dragging the TR-3 around our crushed stone driveway that circles the house, the results were really good and EASY to obtain. It pulled up weeds, filled low spots...and left a nice finish. I expect that snowblower will throw less stone this winter! :)

The 6ft Model TR3e Cost me $3500 (2020) to my door, was interesting for the first few mins of use but easy to understand and work out. i posted Videos on YT since No One had done so at the time. I have since posted more. I now have the 5.5' TR3 model and will be doing a comparison soon once it warms up. i sorta need another person with a similar tractor in order to do so as well as a nice ****ed up Driveway to work on. I used my TR3e so much that i dont need to use it as often on the driveway. My Frustration with the TR3e is that Heavy Vegetation will clog the scarifier up to the point where it locks up the wheel thats closest to it. At this point the material build up is enough to keep the TR3e scarifier from engaging the ground. To be completely honest i was in a old field that that hadnt been plowed so it was pulling everything that had been growing for 2yrs.
To sum it up, the TR3e is designed 1st and foremost with Arena grading in mind. Doing driveway work is a secondary move and it is more than capable of handling that. The Smallest model is made lite enough for the smallest Subcompact tractor to handle and maybe even the small John Deere heavy duty Lawnmower type tractors (x500/x700) they produce. Its pretty lite around 500+ lbs. The 5.5' TR3 is pretty solid and i see where it outmuscles the E model. With both of them i see where they talk about the Hydraulic Top Link coming into play. Even with the E model, the Hyd Top Link is worth it and makes life that much easier! I bought my Top-Link from Agri Supply but i suggest getting 1 with the Check valves!
Like i said in my videos, the TR3e is a GREAT all around tool. It will never beat each comparable tool in a heads up use for that single tools purpose but the combination of the TR3e doing or being able to do all things as a Jack of All Trades, thats where it shines.
The TR3 was $5K to the door for the 5.5' model but i added the 24" Finish Rake Extension ($79) It really is built Tank Tough and weighs more than the TR3e.

The pricing seems pretty elusive, you have to provide them contact information to get a quote, which I personally have reservations about. But they are also talking about $111 per month for 48 months, which is $5,000.......for the TR3 Rake and $79 per month for the TR3 subcompact version, which works out to approx $4,000....and those do include interest. What about just a cash purchase price?

I could use one of those for maintaining our 1,100'+ long crushed aggregate road, but so far, I have kept it maintained with the Box blade........and dragging the bottom of the FEL bucket. Can someone who owns one give us a ball park of the cost of a 5' version of the SCUT model or whatever size works best on the SCUT?

Thanks.............
I tried to reply at the end of this Thread but this is what i have paid for BOTH the TR3 5.5' and TR3e 6' Models
TR3e 6' - was roughly $3600 to my door (incl Liftgate) for the Base model which is called the Property Edition. I have since learned that the Optional Profile Blade is another $700 that includes the blade and Bracket that attaches to the front of the TR3e frame. IMO It is a worth option but i never bought it. i thought it was included but didnt find out until after it was delivered that it was Optional.
TR3 5.5' - was $5100 to my door with liftgate. i also got the upgraded Longer Rake Extensions for $79. Due to its weight of 620lbs or slightly more they said i was pushing closer to my max on my rear 3pt lift for a John Deere 1025r. i admit i was worried about that part but i took the plunge anyway since they have a 30 day Attach Match return Policy. ITS NOT GOING BACK!!!;) There is a Profile blade option but its completely different that the one for the TR3e Equine/ Property Edition. For my Tractor and probably ANY Sub Compact Tractor, it is too heavy of an option for the Rated 3pt lift.
IF you want or feel you need the Profile Blade then your best and only option for a Sub Compact Tractor is the TR3e!
They also make Harrow Blades for the TR3/e Line BUT..... to put it on the TR3e you have to have the Profile Blade Bracket which at that point you might as well buy the Profile blade as well. The price breakdown as of Oct/ Nov 21 is below
TR3e 6' Model - Profile Blade set up $799, if you want the Harrow Disc you will have to buy or already own the Bracket for the Profile Blade!
TR3e 6' Model -Harrow Disc $799 (I think i cant remember completely)
They do offer Discounts on shipping sometimes so you have to watch their website
TR3 5.5' Model - they Do Not Recommend the Profile blade Option due to Weight/ Lift Capacity of my 1025r
TR3 5.5' Model - i did not ask about the Harrow Disc considering the weight BUT the disc fit in the same holders as the scarifiers so there is no need for an extra bracket like with the TR3e model (Extra Weight) i am still thinking about them but will update GTT as i go.
1 Important note from ABI's Harrow Video that i noticed but have NO Direct Knowledge of is the Height from the ground when the Harrow disc are on the TR3/e. IF you have a Bigger Frame tractor then ground clearance shouldnt be an issue but most Sub Compact Tractors are lacking in Ground Clearance and Lift Height. From the Videos i see that as being an issue but again, i do not personally know. I reached out to Matt Metzger at ABI (on the disc harrow video) and didnt get a sufficient answer. The Majority of their videos are of full size tractors using their equipment which bothers me since not everyone has a full size tractor. also their videos are like 5-8 second Tik-Tok shorts stiched together to make a full 5 min video!

All in all i will discuss this on my next Video that i post. Surprisingly i am STILL the only Person in America to Post a USER Review for the TR3e on YouTube:rolleyes:o_O:eek::oops: not sure why or how that turned out.
IF anyone lives in the RDU Area of NC and want to give my TR3e a try then lets link up. it will help me when it comes to making videos. I prefer someone with a Sub Compact or Compact Tractor. I just need 1 maybe 2 Volunteers, not 30!!!

I have the TR3-E 6ft with the profile blade. I've not had any issues using it with my 1025r. It is pushing the limits of weight back there, you won't be able to lift it in idle. Goose the throttle, and it picks up fine. We use ours to groom the arena, and harrow our pastures. I highly recommend it.

Prices must have changed a lot recently. Based on videos, and after reading this thread, I contacted ABI to get a quote. The TR3e prices seem significantly higher than 6 months ago. (Probably commodity / supply chain) TR3e property edition with profile blade was quoted as $5023 and TR3e-Equine $5756. Those are not cash prices. Makes it significantly harder to make the choice on the product, even when considering not purchasing a box blade.

I got mine in 2017, and yeah that is a lot. Unfortunately, I don't think prices will ever come down significantly, for anything.

And if you don't like the lines, just drive on the driveway - they go away.

I decided they are way too expensive for a driveway tool anyways. Because I don't have an arena to maintain it doesn't make sense for me. Neat tool though 👍

Glad it is working well for you..
A number of years ago I researched the TR 3 attachment.. In many areas I'm sure it will do multiple tasks over and above arena grooming.. However here in the far north, it would not do well for things other than arena work.. Even back when I was looking, it seems it would be the price of multiple more versatile attachments..
Prices today would likely be shocking..

I've got one and am very pleased with it for gravel and finish dirt work. As others have said, it's not efficient to move a large amount of dirt any distance but my tractor can't do that anyway. When I try to fill a five foot box blade I get bogged down pretty quick.

They make several models and there are options for each. For guys asking about pricing it's really hard for anyone else to know what you need. Call and talk with ABI and they'll be honest with you and what you need. I talked with them a couple times and then found a nice used one that was pretty close to the recommendation for less than half the price of new. When they followed up I told them I bought a used one and the guy said great we'll be here if you need us but won't contact you and they haven't. I did have him run the serial number to get the year of manufacture since the seller wasn't sure and to let them know where that unit lives now. If I need anything they already know what model I have.
