Don't get overly excited about that 3rd function. It's really a diverter. Not saying that's bad, just pointing it out.

I see this tractor as nothing more than another rebrand attempt. RK seems to have the best effort for this so far. They also have tractor sales and part & service at their stores. So far it seems all Summit has is a demo unit and a web site. I wish them well but don't see them being able to make a significant dent in the SCUT/small CUT market anytime soon.

Hi All
I had a good look at the FEL it is an Australian built Burder loader, the same brand fitted to my 1025R the landing legs are stored in the same place the cross pipe down near the bucket, the level indicator is the same the SCV handle is the same with the diverter button in the top. the diverter is mounted in a similar position. there are to many similarities not to be. Burder have been building front end loaders for many years they are a great product
Regards John

I agree with mr b except 3rd function and rear remotes is becoming more standard on some tractors
#rd function is an option for some JD models. Before the pandemic stupidity some dealers, like mine were ordering that option for their floorplan. Mine was on the lot with it factory installed. They had to order & install the power beyond that isn't so popular.

4th & 5th - Don't judge popularity by forum's. Forum's can be like having dinner with the Jone's every night and then you go broke trying to keep up with them.

Now post-pandemic and in the supply chain shortage era - if you want it now you buy what they have or you order it and wait for their convenience to build it. This, like the Whan Flu, won't ever go away.

JD ='s Burger King - “Have It Your Way

The wait time is a bit longer though, but at Burger King you have to wait in the drive through line burning $5/gal gas because the dining room is still closed.

Leo Getts told us what happens at the drive through.

I think a small panel with a half dozen pre-wired switches would be nice so when we do start installing our own options
Nice? The difference is what is nice for you isn't for others. Wanna pay for what they think is nice.

You pay the upcharge. Your choice, for yours or for everyone's.

You should know how this works Mr. Boat salesman.

Pre-wire all your boats and don't raise the price.

Well, actually, most of the pontoons have the same dash as others in that trim level which typically means multiple redundant "Aux" switches pre-wired & ready for use.

I'd presume that the internal idea machine for an Indian brand tractor is a bit different than that of a US manufacturer. As a matter of fact, I know it is.

Their corporate culture is likely heavy on innovation, given they produce in a low cost/low wage country and sell to high wage countries. They don't have to worry about pinching pennies to make ever increasing revenue targets.

The US corporate culture is all about finding ways to do it "better and cheaper". Wanna make more money at your company? More cost saving suggestions!

Again, Summit is owned by the same guy that created the RK lineup for Rural King.

Seen a few horror stories on Mahindra.

Fellow I bought a few implements from..had one ..Big time electrical problems.

pretty much zero support in Oregon.....theres a fistfull of dealers at best.

Green or Orange here...rest is a gamble.
Theres blue......jury is still out if Ford is LS or LS is ford......No sale there
I had a 50 HP Mahindra with cab. Lots of electrical problems. Ignition switch failed early on., It was basically pot metal and poorly made. The cab was not set right on the chassis and shorted out everything. Parking brake failed on a hill. The pawl did not have enough grip on the brake. Had to weld an extension on to make it work securely. Traded it on a JD 2038R. Dealer really wanted to low ball the trade in.

I don't mean to stray too far from the topic, but I've always wondered why some folks don't like re-branded tractors? We've had 11 tractor total since the Mountain blew, and only two of them are still going strong. One is a little 970, and the other is a 1070. Both are re-branded tractors.

I don't have a problem with rebranded tractors per se. It's the lack of dealer service and support that concerns me. If I'm spending that kind of money I want to be sure someone is there for me in the future. Service after the sale is more important than the sale itself IMHO.

To some extent I'm worried about resale value as well.

Thats been my experience- at the end of last (very late fall) season, i brought my tractor in for dealer service…they said 1 week but nearly 4 weeks later it was ready…all they did was changed the oil, filters, replaced mower deck blades. I put less than 9 hours on it mainly mowing 1x and moving some snow and the actuator stopped working…first an actuator shouldn’t go on a “premium “ tractor with less than 250 hrs on it….so the dealer picks it up to perform the repair…and a couple ofmthousand dollars later…i look at bill— they also charged me for changing the oil, filters and sharpening the blades… that dealer did that only 9 hours ago in the fall and i mowed with the tractor 1x before the snow started flying..so all of that was completely unnecessary and they gouged me for about an extra 500…thats the type of Deere dealer service I have been experiencing
I’d double check what they did to ‘fix’ your actuator. Mine has stopped working a third time with never even using the MMM. First covered under two year warranty. Same code after two years dealer charged $200 to calibrate the actuator. I got upset and cancelled the regular $500 maintenance scheduled. They dropped the charge. Now less than 500 hours same code.

^^^ This. Service is important to me.

I'm not an idiot; 4 degrees hanging on the wall, plus I grew up as the son of a helo mechanic, made money in high school repairing and selling lawn mowers, rebuilt a 351 with Dad, etc. But we never had tractors, so all those nuggets of tractor wisdom are new to me and in my 50s working hard and raising a family I don't have time for monkeying around.

Could I figure out how to repair a cheaper machine? Of course, like I said, not an idiot. But I'd rather turn to a shop with expertise and a good supply chain to fix the complicated stuff quickly so I can get back to using the equipment rather than wrenching on it. The closest tractor sales and service to where I live is JD.

Now, if there were a decent nearby shop that knew how to work on RK, or Summit, Mahindra, Kioti, or what have you, and was known for quickly turning effective repairs, then I'd consider those as viable options too. Those other brands need to build out a reliable network near me before I'll consider changing colors.

I am not sure how good or bad this Summit tractor actually is, but I can say as a positive that did like that many of the most important features were standard.

But at the end of the day, I don't think Deere has anything worry about from Summit tractors.

The buyer that will buy this cheap tractor was looking for a cheap tractor and didn't care about reputation for quality and or future parts availability etc etc etc.

I just don't see this tractor taking any business way from Deere.

Then again I might be just an old Biased green machine Deere snob. LOL :p 😁 😁

I am a John Deere fan too, but the price is not out yet on the Summit Tractor, it may not be a "cheep" tractor at all.
