Made a bracket to mount new 20A breakers on dad’s 4520. Original breakers have an offset mount and are not readily available, standard breakers from auto parts store have side mounted holes.

Not entirely in the shop because it was just outside on some 2x6’s and saw horses. I chose this location due to dust and hose water and messy work.
I dunno where else to put this so here it is
I recently had my dog pass and wanted to do a flush head stone for him. I have a semi flat piece of marble I found on the property. Up until now I have been using it for a rinsing station for my hot tub filters lol. Anyway I had my talented sister, who was up from Florida at our family reunion, draw something up on some butcher paper and I cut it out with a razor
Image
I lightly cleaned up the surface of the stone with a angle grinder bit
Image
And then layed out the butcher paper
Image
I then sprayed a couple 3 coats of black spray paint on it. Biggest problem was the curling of the paper at the skinny spot so I wore a rubber glove and held it down where I could.
Image
Let it dry then got out my Dremel and a diamond bit kit I got from Amazon

Scratched the outline with a fine point and called it a day

More tomorrow. I plan on hollowing out the letters a quarter inch or so and laying it flat/flush in the ground by him under his favorite tree so I can weed wack around it.
If this is too long I can do a thread on it

Sorry for your loss Kyle.

:( Sorry for the loss of Fritz, Kyle(@Kbar).
Fine looking head stone. (y)

One of the hydraulic hard pipes on my excavator started leaking, so I replaced it today. I’ll keep the old one and try welding it, but for now I just needed to get the machine working again without leaks. It’s odd that after 7 years a pin hole started seeping at one of the welds, but so it is. It’s the lower of the two pipes in the picture, and provides aux hydraulics to attachments.

Kyle, are you going to pour a bit of black epoxy resin in the lettering?

In the shop today:
Actually, it was one step outside the shop door but close enough. ;)

The right side tailgate cable came loose in the crimp, so I removed both sides and trashed them.
↓ This is the left side.

I replaced both sides with a section of chain. (y) I can now trust laying something heavy on the tailgate. :)

I dunno. I was thinking about how to make it stand out more. I thought to just get a small brush and paint the letters. I also thought about going deeper for a bolder look but here in the PNW algae and crud will get in there anyway. I might just leave it as is and let it weather

I have no idea what that 285 pound hunk of steel is for but, I applaud you for your application. Sometimes the simplest modifications are the best. Now tell me what the hunk of steel is so I can do that to my quick hitch ;)

Mike,,
No one ventured a guess. So here goes.

It is a front counter weight for a Jeep:

Those weights were used to offset the load placed on the rear of the Jeep when equipped with a trencher, backhoe, or any of the dozens of farm implements factory approved by Willys-Overland Motors and attached to the rear Monroe three-point hitch.

Well how to you like that. I would have never guessed, glad I didn't bet my life knowing :D.

That has to be a very expensive piece to buy if one was restoring a jeep.

Thanks for sharing!

Kyle that is going to be great. Paint with a brush will hold up excellent in that but Flyweights Idea might even be better.

The problem with filling it in with epoxy is the surface is not a flat plane. It’s real close but undulates up to a half inch in spots. I thought about planing it but decided I liked the rough look better and I just shaved off the odd high spot and left the rest as is. He wasn’t a spit and polish dude. He was rough around the edges and liked it that way so he gets a stone with character which I think he’d approve. I just might paint the bottom of the cuts and leave it. Then maybe coat the whole thing in a sealer
