Ok, need some help on this. Had my son doing some work out back and he came back with the front loader raised. Can not get it to go down. All other functions work. It goes up, dumps and curls, just does not go down. Any help would be much appreciated. Has an H130 loader. Thanks!

First thing off the top of my head would be to check the hydro connections at the SCV outlets and make sure they are all properly connected. One of them may not be fully seated. You should be able to reverse the up/down connections to get it down until you figure out what is going on.

Agreed. Remove the QD's, clean, and reseat them. :good2:

Additional info...after asking a few questions, my boy admitted to trying to knock a small tree down in his dirt bike trail. He told me he raised the bucket and tries to run it down...not pleased...but after a few failed attempts, he backed off and that?s how the bucket got stuck.

I will try to re-seat the connections and see if that works. I appreciate the tips. I?ll post after I try that.

Take a look at the hydraulic lift cylinders on the loader. If he was ramming trees with the bucket it is possible that he bent one (or both).

Does the hydro system sound different when you try to lower the arms? Does it change to a higher-pitched whine? If it does, that might indicate that the arms are "stuck" and the system is going into bypass.

Pewp happens and kids do dumb stuff (I sure did when I was a kid! ).

Ok, checked all the quick connects. Cleaned them, re-seated and still won?t go down. Could low hydraulic fluid be the culprit as well? I know that sounds stupid, but this is my first tractor so...
No...

Try swapping hoses around and see if the problem moves somewhere else. This would indicate if a QD is bad.

Never apologize for asking questions. We all started in the same place. :thumbup1gif:

Update...so after inspecting the QD, I noticed the pin inside was pushed back ever so slightly. These are not rebuildable, so I just bought a brand new coupler and replaced it...all good, working as it should. Im thinking that there was some debris in the old one, or it just gave out.

I definitely appreciate all the support and suggestions, you all helped more than my local JD dealership...hence the reason we drove almost an hour south of where we live to buy from a much friendlier, supportive dealership. Thanks everyone ??

Nice to hear it was an "easy" fix and you've got things back up and running again.

Good to hear you're back to normal running again.
Ramming a tree with the bucket! Yeah, 99 out of a 100 cases, that would have been the problem for sure. Not that it's a good practice, but shows JD loaders are a pretty stout design.:good2:
