I REALLY need a seat for the 650,,, the original rocks WAY too much to suit me.

I have found the seat-warehouse one that is $189 and appears to be a drop-on

BUT,,,

the Michigan suspension seat from Northern for $349 looks intriguing!!

Is there anything else I should consider?? :dunno:

The MI seat also has arm rests, angle of the back rest adjustment, and lumbar adjustment. Plus two piece (backrest & cushion) will not split like a one piece will at the cushion/backrest "bend" in the seat.

If you want/need a suspension seat, I would get the MI seat

It is also the same seat JD uses on the Special Edition L&G tractors (x485SE, plus others) and charges $600 for, only in yellow instead of black.

It also comes in "Exmark" gray and "Skag" tan for more $$$

Seat Warehouse also has a NON suspension seat that is two piece, yellow with arm rests for $260 that they say fits ZTRs if you do not need the suspension check this one too.

THANKS!! I just ordered the V5300 suspension seat,,,
Seat-Warehouse had it for the same price as Northern,,
with free delivery and no tax!! :yahoo:

If it is too big, I will put it on my Gravely,,, and use the Gravely seat on the 650,,,
so height and size became a non-issue.

A question about mounting the V5300,,,
The JD 650 has a front pivot,, and rear springs.
Can I eliminate the rear springs since the V5300 has some suspension built in? :dunno:

I hate the 650 springs, they are too close to the hinge point,, and not strong enough.

I would prefer a more rigid mount,,, I think,,,

Well,, the new seat arrived,, and it is on,,,
I will still have to paint the bracket, now that I know it works,,,

I would not recommend the seat for short people,,, it is much higher, but suits me PERFECTLY!! :bigthumb:

The seat is also HEAVY,, I guess I need one less wheel weight,,, now!!

None,,
I put some nylon spacers inside the springs that stops the seat from leaning back too far,
The ROPs was an issue,, before the spacers.

I had to cut the spacers 3 times, before I got the right angle.

Very nice! I put the same seat on my 2520 a while ago and love it - one of the best "comfort" upgrades I have done.

Yeah - they are a bit expensive but to me well worth it. When you see the build quality and the heft of the seat you are getting what you pay for. That sucker was heavy - had to have Mrs. C help me place it a couple times when I was fitting it.

They are!
As coaltrain posted, best upgrade (comfort or other IMO) you could ever do.:good2:
