I would need the S/N to know what vintage the 1025R is and to get an exact part number. But basically that is a $1300 part and takes a bit of work to replace. Some folks have tried welding the mount. The part is #1 shown below.

How did it get broke?
Was a post hole digger involved?.....that has been the cause of some that broke.

Another was from leaving a long pin in the hole and accidently raising the 3. , then the short lift arms hit the pin and snapped off an ear.

That part is aluminum isn't it??

It's cast but I don't think it's iron. Much of the rear case is aluminum and it appears the mount is machined into the casting material..........It's a very complex part to make when you look at all that it does..............Depending upon how its broken, I would certainly investigate having it professionally welded.

 

From what I've seen in pictures sent to me, the center link support bracket (where the top link is pinned to the tractor) has been broken. This prevents top link connection, which has obvious implications for using any rear-attached implements.

I accidently broke one side of clevis (trying to attach post hole digger). My dealer says you have to buy the complete assembly. Looks like a lot of unneccessary parts and cost is almost $2400--that's a big chunk of a whole tractor. Does anyone know if/where you can get just the housing assembly...

I’m pretty confident the origin lies with a folded down ROPS but I wasn’t present and don’t know for certain.

if you have the loose piece: JB weld it back in place....the pieces will" find their own home & an alignment pin would'nt hurt....wait a day, drill & tap, bolts

 

Hopefully, someone thought to look for or pick up the piece when this broke to make a repair by welding at least a possibility. As far out as the mount sticks from the main housing, I would try the welding by someone who is really, really good and knows their stuff. ................

The process to disassemble the case to replace this housing is a major project......not to mention the cost of the part.........

The broken-off portion was luckily recovered.

I’ll let you all know what the outcome is. Since this is not my tractor, the final decision isn’t mine to make, thankfully. I’m just trying to gather info before the dealer service dept is involved to help inform that eventual decision on what to do.

It is cast iron. I had my welder reinforce the tabs as well as he could. I believe he really done a great job on it. he wrapped some iron around the outside of the tabs. See pics. I'm getting ready to clean it up and put some primer on it before I paint it.

Good, glad the broken piece was recovered and hopefully, the welding goes well. That sure would save a lot of time and $$$$......

Looking forward to seeing and hearing how it turns out. Thanks for posting this, tddeangelo, as its an important reminder that care needs to be taken around this area when using ROPS and other activities with the 3ph.......

 

This particular 1025 sees somewhat hard use.....without going into fine detail, I am aware of bent top links caused by backing up and bumping into trees with the implement on the 3pt, apparently a disc was pulled with at least one of the lift pins not attached to the iMatch, the ROPS lowered and then the 3pt raised, etc.

My suspicion is that there was no one event that led to this, rather it's the result of the cumulative affect of those various things and eventually a crack developed and it broke. Fortunately the actual departure of the broken piece occurred when an implement was being attached, so attention was being paid to the hitch at the time and the broken part was recovered.

And....helpful for me at least.....it's a constant reminder of what can occur when attention is not paid to proper connection of implements, usage, etc.

 

Follow-up...

I haven't seen the job yet, but the owner of the tractor was able to locate a welder to make the repair. The tractor was returned the other day, but I haven't seen the results yet.

The cost was something like $300-$350.

 

If it broke attatching an implement........Most likely the pin was part way in or out.
Then
3 point lever was lifted/lowered to get the arms out of the way...probly lifted.

been documented a few times.

I match avoids this ever " almost" happening....as long as all implements are I match compatable.
Once I match is installed.....smooth sailing.

 

There is (and was at the time) an iMatch installed.
