It can't be worse than the Hondas. There is a stiff maintenance access price to pay for all those sound deadening panels. I had to make a special tool just to change the spark plug on my EU6500is. And cleaning the fuel tank sediment bowl, I won't even get into that fiasco. :)
Umm yeah, agreed, Honda's are not exactly easy to work on either. Pretty much have to disassemble the whole thing just to do basic maintenance lol

So... it's well past June 2023, has anyone actually seen any of these new Deere inverter generators? The Deere home workshop website still shows the old stuff.

But.. they're not. Jon Deere's long time running buddy Kohler teamed up to build these. They've built Gen sets together for years and wouldn't think of bringing in another partner. Honda has there own red thing going in this market and they don't need it to be GREEN!. Honda don't need another competitor especially themselves. There are no reviews and only bare bone specifications listed. I talked to a guy at the JD dealer today. Turns out JD has been building Generators since 1808. One thing I've found is that once a premium brand goes outside its core of expertise, the product in question goes to **** as it is usually made by a low quality third party and just rebadged. JD should focus on what it does best, tractors. Milwaukee should focus on power tools, etc.

At one time JD sold walk behind mowers, snowblowers, and even chainsaws . I'd say all 3 of those were more in-line with their core business segments. But they got out of all that years ago and are now going to market generators? Anyone else find that odd? Maybe they expect power outages to become the new normal.....

Bought a Arctic Cat genny back in 1999 (rebranded Suzuki) and while it was a good unit, didn't always like the idea of having to babysit it or having to be home to run it regardless of time of year. So donated it to our snowmobile club and bought a Generac whole house standby genny (not the beer....LOL). Tho our power doesn't go out as often as it use to, now only thing I have to do is to shovel the snow away from it during the winter.

Update...

I first saw the announcement of the new JD inverter generators in April of 2023, but I've never actually seen them mentioned or advertised anywhere. However, JD apparently now has a rebate program for the new generators.

I got the same rebate email. They show them on the Deere website but don't list any prices. Everything is "Contact Your Dealer".

Same email here.

It's 2024 and we have to actually contact someone for a price? :(

When I get to be king I'm gonna make the FTC issue a ruling that anyone doing business on the US internet needs a published price. List or otherwise.

Agree 100% Anytime I click on an item and it says "Call for Quote", "Contact us for price" or makes you fill out a form to get a price, I immediately click away and go elsewhere as my interpretation is "How much is it" -> "How much you got?". There is absolutely no reason why LIST price cannot be shown (unless the manufacturer is too embarrassed by their ridiculous prices).

#metoo. No list price I go elsewhere.

Either they are embarrassed by the price or they want the salesman to "get the mark in the door".

Ain't got no time for that crap. Don't want to talk to salesmen and not giving out my info.

I do have to agree with one thing. I don't see what the business advantage of all this is. I get keeping your name in the public eye and mining sales from your name's quality reputation but why attach your reputation to someone else's product?

As @bluebanana said, much of the time it's simply ho-ing out a business name for some quick bucks from something made elsewhere. And ones you can't control the quality of.

Is Deere strapped for new money making ideas of their own in their tractor/equipment markets?

That small one looks exactly like the one I just bought from Tractor Supply, which is not a Honda. I just got that email this morning and saw this thread just now. The last thing I need is an expensive Tractor Supply genset with JD on it.

Well, look what I found.....it would appear that the Deere unit is a green branded MiTM Corporation unit.

Same front panel, same hinges, same side plastics....the 4000 and 2500 watt units also appear to be identical to MiTM products.

Looking at the "About Us" page on the MiTM website, they're a small equipment manufacturer in Peosta, Iowa. There appears to also be a showroom there, so folks could actually put their hands on the generators to check them out.

I'm sure the components are of Chinese origin, but it would appear to be an American made (assembled) product. I was pleasantly surprised....heck, they even have service centers listed on the website.

That was my first post, so I couldn't post a link.....let's try again.

Main inverter generator page - Residential Inverter Generators | Mi-T-M Corporation
Their online store page - Mi-T-M Equipment Sales | Serving The Dubuque Area

7300w link - 7300-Watt Gasoline Inverter | GEN-8000-IMM1E | Mi-T-M
4000w link - 4000-Watt Gasoline Inverter | GEN-4000-IMM1E | Mi-T-M
2500w link - 2500-Watt Gasoline Inverter | GEN-2500-IMM1 | Mi-T-M

They don't have prices listed on the site, but toolnut.com has them listed for $2625 - Mi-T-M GEN-8000-IMM1E 7300-Watt Gasoline Inverter
