TTWT Bought A Kubota Compact Tractor!

Way cool Tim. Congratulations.

I am looking forward to seeing more about this tractor.

You didn't mention the size comparison to JD. Would this frame size be similar to the current 2 Series Deere?

🤦‍♂️ OMG! Are you that upset with John Deere for making you take down the colors on your opening theme that you would now go to the "dark side". Lol. All kidding aside looks like a nice machine. Looking forward to seeing you demo it. Congrats 👍

His show isn't "John Deere Tractor Time With Tim", it's "Tractor Time With Tim" ....... Should be interesting videos.

Logo War! 😁
New Holland and Kubota have made appearances.
Now he needs to add Kioti, mahindra, Massey, Case, and all the others..

The logo situation really had no impact. On topics like this, we realize how some folks cannot see through the 'color' of machine. While we 'bleed green', and don't expect that to change, we respect the other brands and always intend to be objective in our comparisons. We think that purchasing a machine like this with our own money will help to validate that goal.

All machine color loyalty joking aside, I think this is a very good business decision for the channel.. You can only talk about the same machine doing the same thing so many times before you run out of content and run out of viewers. This opens up a whole new line of content, and will attract a whole new segment of viewers.

Definitely. Kubota & Deere make up the lion's share of tractor sales in this segment - I don't have any recent numbers but I thought that combined they were 75% or the market a few years ago so why not open up his content to a wider audience? Green and Orange both make very capable tractors and competition makes the stuff we buy better (and keeps the prices in check).

I think this is where the real comparison value lies. If it’s my money, I want the best tractor at that price point, I don’t care what color it’s painted. I also feel like this attitude is a benefit to us all. John Deere, nor any other company, should feel like that they can put out junk and we will buy it because they paint it green. Competition keeps JD and the rest of them on their toes.

This will be a great addition to your channel! It should open up some new areas for content for sure. I looked hard at BX machines before I bought my 1025R, I'm sure most owners due of either of the brands. Both brand are so well respected for good reason.

Tim, with that said, I know some people don’t like Neil that much but I watch his channel also, and think he is an honest and stand up guy with a good dealership. Are my thoughts accurate ? Not to put you on the spot but I wish he was closer.

Neil sometimes comes across as a bit snarky on-camera. In person, I have not noticed that at all. I find him a joy to be around. Of course he has a Kubota bias. He admits that. However, during our "BX vx. 1025r" series where the BX took a beating (in my opinion), Neil worked with me behind the scenes, and publicly in the comments section to help me provide objective and truthful comparisons. He could have started bad-mouthing me, but he did not. He chose to work with me, helping me to be more accurate in my assessment.

Overall, I consider Neil a friend. ....if I were a bit younger, I might challenge him to wrastle (not wrestle...you know...what you did with your brother when you were young) over which tractor is best....but it would be all in fun!

Great vid Tim.

While, I don't think my Green Bias would allow me to purchase an Orange machine, I am interested in a set of those R14's
My only disappointment in the Goodyear R14's is that they are not Radials. The other two brands (Carlisle Versaturf and Galaxy Garden Pro) are both radials.

Wrong forum?
Perhaps you meant this one?

Watched the video Tim and think it's a great addition to your channel.

One thing I've respect about your channel is your honesty about your reviews.

I'm willing to bet my cheeseburger lunch money that you will find likes and dislikes but in the end it will be as capable as other brands. Now days whether it's tractors or trucks, their mostly commodities with little separating one from another.

This all coming from a "Blue" owner....

I agree, another great video. I owned a BX for 10 years and agree, a 1 series JD is a lot more tractor. After owning my JD 2025r for 2 years now I would give JD a slight edge in engineering, the auto connect deck being one such example. I know someone with a newer BX and you can see how they copy each other, for example the BX no longer has the pins to pull to take the loader off, latches more like a JD. They are also copying the single point connector for the FEL hydraulics.

I am curious Tim how taking the FEL goes for you. It looks similar to the older BX I had. The JD is easy where I feel the BX I had took a little technique. Kind of a up and over motion. I can remember a few photos on another forum where people got things cross ways when installing and removing the first time. Good luck with the Kubota.

I enjoy my 1023E think it's a very reliable machine that being said I'm not a die hard JD owner. I live in Bloomsburg Pennsylvania where we have a Mahindra assembly plant (and a Kubota dealer) I looked at Mahindra tractors, a friend of mine has done work for me using a Mahindra he swears by them and the service he has gotten. I considered purchasing one but at the time John Deere was having quite a discount on the 1023E and between the two, at the time JD was the best deal money wise. Plus my wife likes the color....like money
Stay safe.

I won‘t know what to do with myself if he decides he likes this Orange thing better?

Just k i d d i n g.

Congrats on the new.... Orange.... machine! Looking forward to seeing it work.

C'mon guys! The only thing wrong with kubota tractors is the Treadle pedal. Maybe @Tractor Tim will come up with a twin pedal conversion system. 🤑

#37 ·
His right foot / leg will never be the same.;)

#39 ·
Much as I like my JD, they could take lessons from Kubota on the loader joystick.

This has given me courage to come clean.... I have been looking at orange....there... I said it. Mostly the grand L 54/60:60. I like the cab being bigger with side windows that open and the fuel fill down low ...and the two speed shift hydrostatic on the steering wheel. I’m so torn ... please reel me back in.

As a replacement, or addition compared to another Green machine?

😱
🤮 OOOOOOOOOO an orange tractor. What were you thinking Tim. LOL
That is ITTTTT !!!!! Unsubscribed. LOL

I saw that video, first thing this morning, I was wondering if you were going to be brave and let the GTT club know about it.
I was a little shocked to see Tim buying an Orange tractor first thing this morning, I did have to take a double take on that one. LOL

All seriousness, I am looking forward to seeing how you like those tires.
I am looking at those same R14T Hybrid tires for my 5115M.
It is coming with R1 Ag tires and I am thinking I may want to change those out for something a little more turf friendly without handicapping its capabilities to much.

I must say that I am still not sure I care much about that ugly Orange tractor those R14s are setting on.:p

I know the loader on my BX was easier to get two functions at the same time and overall had a better feel. On the other hand it was mounted up along side the dash and it felt like you were always reaching for it. It looks like it’s mounted much closer to the seat on Tim’s tractor.
